Or, if you'd like something a little different, you can join me on this little piece of heaven we get to call home. A 9,000-acre ranch in the Black Hills.
There's plenty of room to explore, play, wander, and simply let your kids be kids. It's a beautiful setting for families, children, couples, seniors, and anyone who wants photographs that feel natural and connected to the outdoors.
And because it's our home, there are a few little extras that make the experience even more special.

Depending on the season and what's available, sessions at the ranch may come with a little taste of our everyday life.
Fresh eggs from our chickens.
Fresh garden produce when it's in season.
A little piece of the slower life we're building here.
It's not something I can promise with every session — gardens have seasons and chickens don't exactly follow a schedule — but when there's something fresh to share, I'd love for you to take some home.
It's just one small way of making your time here feel less like a photo session and more like you've come to spend an afternoon with a friend.
COME AS YOU ARE
You don't need to know how to pose.
You don't need perfectly behaved kids.
You don't need everyone looking at the camera.
And you definitely don't need to have your whole family dressed and behaving like they stepped out of a magazine.
I'll guide you when you need it and let you be when you don't.
My goal is to create photographs that feel like your family actually felt that day — not a perfectly posed version of you.
So bring the kids. Bring the chaos. Bring the dog. Bring your favorite people.

The ranch is special to me, but it isn't the only place I photograph.

FAQ
Where do you photograph?
I photograph throughout the Black Hills and surrounding areas, at clients' homes, meaningful locations, outdoor locations, and the 9,000 acre ranch we live on. I will also travel anywhere in the US. I frequently go back to Missouri throughout the year.
What should I wear?
For family photoshoots, I always tell people to plan their outfits around mom. Pinterest is your friend. I am currently working on a style guide to send directly to you but in the mean time I always talk with clients and will help plan their outfits. Simple is always the best. Something that fits your body. Again....pinterest is awesome lol.
How many pictures will I receive?
You will get all the best images from your session. Delivered on an online gallery. The only exception are mini sessions where you will choose your favorite 30 images.
How quickly will we receive our photos?
You will get a sneakpeak within 48 hours. Depending on time of year I try to deliver photos within a week. Sometimes I am able to deliver within a couple days or within two weeks. All depends on time of year and type of session you have chosen.
When do you book sessions?
I only do photos in the months of February, March, April, May, September, October, November, and December. My availability will be seen during booking or you can always email me.
Can you photograph something that isn't listed on your site?
Absolutely! I have a lot of experience in all aspects of photography so please just reach out and I will see what we can do or recommend another photographer.
Why do you only photograph during certain months?
I'm not limiting bookings because I'm unavailable or because I'm trying to create artificial scarcity.I'm intentionally building a slower photography business that allows me to be present with my family, homeschool my kids, care for my home and garden, and still give my clients the attention and turnaround they deserve.
What happens if it rains?
Bring some rainboots and I have a clear umbrella!! lol. Lets go get some awesome shots. If its too bad no worries we can reschedule.
